Fancy a little religion with your steampunk?
The Record Keeper is a beautiful and sweeping take on the cosmic battle between good and evil as told in the Old Testament. But instead of focusing on the lives, times and tribulations of the human beings stuck living in the period between banishment from Eden and the Crucifixion, this show follows the story of two angelic brothers who are on different sides of the war as they narrate their versions of events to the Record Keeper.
Created by Jason Satterlund of Big Puddle Films, this is a visually stunning web series that boasts a talented and beautiful cast, and get this… the series was originally commissioned by the Seventh-Day Adventist Church before being disavowed by the same for reasons.
This show stands out on several fronts:
- The chemistry between the three main actors who play Larus, Caden and Raina is electric
- The storyline and plot progression keeps you invested and entirely immersed as the episodes go
- Wow, the set design!
- Wow, the costuming!
Overall, The Record Keeper is not only entertaining but evocative, It tells a story of friendship across enemy lines; of betrayal and the lure of lies; of loyalty and ultimately, of the consequences of our actions.
Mood Rating: If you’re in the mood to be painfully entertained, this is your jam.
