Wolverine: Marvel’s Scripted Podcast

I know what you’re thinking. Yes, this is yet another Wolverine story. But hear me out – Marvel did good! From the cast to the story and even the creepy little background sounds, this is a podcast well worth your time.

Season One

In rural Alaska, people die everyday. But nine people slashed and clawed to death on a boat, with no witnesses and no clues? That’s odd. Add the dead women and we have what looks to be a pattern. At least that’s what Agents Pierce and Marshall think, and that’s the theory they pursue, much to the chagrin of local law enforcement and the wealthy family that runs the town. Oh, and there’s some business with a cult?

Whilst solving the string of already heinous crimes would be a worthy pursuit in and of itself, our Agents are less interested in civil service and more interested in finding and capturing their prime suspect – Wolverine. This audio drama grips you and doesn’t let go. Not when small town secrets threaten lives, nor when social hierarchies lead to heartbreaking consequences; and certainly not when delving into cult activities yields more questions than answers.

Season Two

Some time after the conclusion of season one, we rejoin Logan in New Orleans, where he is seeking out an old flame, whilst being hunted by an old enemy. Still dark, though less disturbing, The Lost Trail is a distinctly human exploration of power and the lengths to which we will go to regain it.

On one hand we have mutants who are just trying to live their lives and on the other we have the people who alternatively believe mutants need to be controlled, or should be used by the government.

Mood Rating: If you think of these first as stories about survival and belonging, instead of as ‘More Wolverine? Seriously?’ – you’ll love what Marvel has put together.
